How to add notes with time entries on a ticket.

To add notes with time entries on a ticket, follow these steps:

Method 1

  1. Navigate to the service desk module on side navigation bar and select "Tickets" section.

  2. Open the ticket you want to add notes with time entries.

  3. On the right-hand side of the screen, locate "Notes & Time" and click on the drop-down.

  4. In the drop-down, you can view existing time entries with notes. To add a new time entry, select "Add time entry" at the bottom of the drop-down.

  5. Fill in the start date and time on the new screen that appears. There is a total time tracker on the right-hand side of the screen; click start when you're starting working on it.

  6. In the notes & time screen, you can choose the "Status", and "Work type" of the ticket.

  7. If you want to add a predefined notes, Add it using "Canned Notes" next to "Work type"

  8. You can also make it "Billable" or "non-billable" by enabling or disabling the toggle button.

  9. In the notes description box, add the notes you want to include and choose the note's visibility at the bottom.

  10. Attachments can be added by clicking on the attachment icon at the bottom.

  11. When finished working on ticket, Click the stop button and end time will be auto updated accordingly, If required resource can update it too.

  12. After filling in and marking all the required fields and sections, click on "Save".

Method 2

  1. Start by accessing the service desk's side menu and selecting "Tickets."

  2. Find the ticket you want to use to communicate with the user and click on it to open it.

  3. Add the relevant notes with time entries by clicking the "+" icon on center of message box and click "notes and time" option

  4. Fill in the start date and time on the new screen that appears. There is a total time tracker on the right-hand side of the screen; click start when you're starting working on it.

  5. In the notes & time screen, you can choose the "Status", and "Work type" of the ticket.

  6. If you want to add a predefined notes, Add it using "Canned Notes" next to "Work type"

  7. You can also make it "Billable" or "non-billable" by enabling or disabling the toggle button.

  8. In the notes description box, add the notes you want to include and choose the note's visibility at the bottom.

NB: End date and time will be automatically fetched.
