After creating a recurring ticket, you can manage it from the recurring tickets section. This lets you update settings, control future ticket generation, and review recurring ticket activity in one place.

Where to manage recurring tickets

To manage recurring tickets, go to:

Control Center > Recurring tickets

From here, you can view all recurring tickets and take actions as needed.

View recurring tickets

The recurring tickets page shows all recurring ticket configurations in one place. You can review details such as:

  • Ticket summary

  • Customer

  • User

  • Assignees

  • Frequency

  • Next run

  • Status

  • Created by

  • Last run

  • Start date

  • End date

  • Last modified

Search and filter recurring tickets

You can use the search bar to quickly find a recurring ticket.

You can also use filters to narrow the list based on details such as:

  • Customer

  • User

  • Site

  • Frequency

  • Next run

  • Start date

  • End date

  • Status

  • Created by

  • Last modified

Edit a recurring ticket

To edit a recurring ticket, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Control Center > Recurring tickets.

  2. Open the recurring ticket you want to update.

  3. Update the required details.

  4. Save the changes.

Changes made to a recurring ticket apply only to future generated tickets. Tickets that were already created are not affected.

Pause a recurring ticket

Pause a recurring ticket when you want to temporarily stop future ticket generation without deleting the recurring setup.

To pause a recurring ticket:

  1. Select the recurring ticket.

  2. Click Pause.

  3. Confirm the action.

While the recurring ticket is paused, DeskDay does not generate new tickets from it.

Resume a recurring ticket

Resume a recurring ticket when you want to start automatic ticket generation again.

To resume a recurring ticket:

  1. Select the paused recurring ticket.

  2. Click Resume.

  3. Confirm the action.

DeskDay resumes ticket generation based on the recurring schedule.

Duplicate a recurring ticket

Duplicate a recurring ticket when you want to create a similar recurring setup without starting from scratch.

To duplicate a recurring ticket:

  1. Select the recurring ticket.

  2. Click Duplicate.

  3. Update the fields if needed.

  4. Save the new recurring ticket.

This is useful when setting up similar recurring work for another customer, user, or service task.

Manage the next schedule

You can control the next scheduled run of a recurring ticket using the Next scheduled option.

Skip next schedule

Use this option when you want to skip only the next scheduled ticket.

To skip the next schedule:

  1. Select the recurring ticket.

  2. Click Next scheduled.

  3. Select Skip.

  4. Confirm the action.

Only the upcoming run is skipped. The recurring ticket remains active and continues with the following schedule.

Generate now

Use this option when you want to create the next ticket immediately.

To generate a ticket now:

  1. Select the recurring ticket.

  2. Click Next occurrence.

  3. Select Generate now.

  4. Confirm the action.

DeskDay creates a new ticket immediately using the recurring ticket settings.

View the recurring ticket timeline

The timeline helps you track activity related to a recurring ticket.

You can use the timeline to review events such as:

  • Ticket generation

  • Failed generation attempts

  • Pause activity

  • Resume activity

This helps you understand what happened and when.

Delete a recurring ticket

Delete a recurring ticket when you no longer need future tickets to be generated from it.

To delete a recurring ticket:

  1. Select the recurring ticket.

  2. Click Delete.

  3. Confirm the action.

Deleting a recurring ticket stops future ticket generation. Tickets that were already generated remain unchanged.

Important notes

  • Changes to a recurring ticket affect only future generated tickets.

  • Paused recurring tickets do not generate new tickets.

  • Deleted recurring tickets do not generate future tickets.

  • Skipping the next occurrence affects only the next scheduled run.

  • Generating a ticket now does not replace the regular schedule.
