As your knowledge base grows, you may need to reorganize folders. This guide explains how to move, rename, or delete folders safely.

Renaming a folder

  1. Open the knowledge base.

  2. Locate the folder you want to rename.

  3. Select the rename option for that folder.

  4. Enter the new folder name.

  5. Press Enter or click anywhere outside the field to save the changes.

The folder name updates immediately, and all articles inside remain unchanged.

Moving a folder

You can move a folder to a different location if the structure needs cleanup.

  1. Select the folder you want to move.

  2. Choose the move option.

  3. Select the destination folder or parent location.

  4. Confirm the move.

The folder, along with all its subfolders and articles, will move together.

Deleting a folder

Only delete a folder if you are sure it is no longer needed.

  1. Select the folder you want to delete.

  2. Click the delete option.

  3. Confirm your action when prompted.

Deleting a folder will also delete:

  • All subfolders inside it

  • All articles stored within it

Use this option carefully.

Things to keep in mind

  • Deleting folders cannot be undone.

  • Moving folders does not affect article content.

  • Renaming folders does not break links to articles.

  • Global KB folders and customer folders follow the same rules.
